Love this ancient hornbeam just above the harbour. It’s like a sentinel overlooking Havelet Bay and the smaller islands.
This small panel is moving forward. It shows a Todt worker, being marched along the roads of Guernsey by a bunch of looming German soldiers. I think it’s got more movement now, but I need to lift the level of warmth in his face a bit still.
I think this is nearly there. This is one of a series of small paintings of the Todt slave workers who were brought to the Channel Idlands by the Nazis to build the fortresses that were part of Hitler’s Atlantic Wall. Although the names of thes
