This is a pretty grotty drawing, but making it felt right. Drawing these pitiful savagely upended trees with their vulnerable exposed gnarly roots and the velvety inky darkness of their stump voids has thrown my mind into all sorts of strange visual
Strange newly formed caterpillary-like fungi on the fallen pines.
Out and about in the sun with a very odd selection of colours which is both annoying and now quite intriguing. Often accidents are vastly more interesting than purposeful and well planned! 🤔

I’ve knocked this back in terms of vibrancy, it’s not as lively but I think it hangs together a bit better. Time will tell. The tree void in the foreground makes me so sad as it was one of only a couple when I drew here before Christmas,
