“Under the blackthorn, the cuckoo pint.” This plant has had so many names throughout history, including the lords and ladies plant, Adam’s needle, wild arum lily, starch root, jack-in-the-pulpit, wake robin and adder’s root. I
Le Guet watchhouse high above Cobo Bay. Built in 1780, The name ‘Guet’ is derived from the French verb ‘guetter’, meaning to watch, which links to its original use and the fact that the view from the top is so extensive.
